Peyronie's disease is a plaque that forms on the tunica albuginea after penile injury. The plaque usually causes penile curvature but can also cause penile indentation. Other symptoms may include painful erections, erectile dysfunction, shortening of the erection, or an inability to engage in sexual intercourse.

Surgical Treatments
To minimize the chance of disease recurrence, it is recommended that patients have a stable, quiescent (inactive) phase for six months to a year before undergoing corrective surgery. Some physicians recommend waiting two years.
