My husband started experiencing pain about 9 months ago and was able to feel the placque forming.  Intercourse was uncomfortable and he said the next day he could hardly touch it with a powder puff.  We saw a urologist 6 months ago and have taken 1000 mg of Vitamin E and used the verapanil cream for 1 month with no results.  He has gone from pain, to a slight bend; to a 90 degree bend in 9 months.   Needless to say intercourse is difficult, painful and irritating to me and esp.  frustrating to my husband.  We have just gone to a university medical center here in MS.  We were told to take 800 mg of Vitamin E three times a day and we are going to begin the Potaba medications today.  Will do that one month and return to Dr.  If no inprovement we will discuss the verapamil injection.  Nothing sounds promising.  Any suggestions?

My husband was diagnosed about 9 months ago by a urologist, because of a knot he was feeling.  There were no problems at that point but slight aching.  Over the last 2 months there has been a slight curve to one side and he went back to the dr. who prescribed vit. e.  In the last 7 days however, there has been a marked change. The bend is now turning up.  Is it usual for changes to happen this significantly, this quickly?  Seven days?  We're in MS.  If anyone knows of a specialist in this area, please respond!
